Thank God for great professors... I've changed my mind (I think)...

Thank God for great professors...

From the beginning of my school years in college, I don't think I've ever had a great line of professors teaching my subjects than this semester.

I'm happy with all of them since I know I can learn a lot which is what really counts when you're in school. With all the newly hired "instructors" in our department, it's so hard to get the ones which could really impart something other than rumors about other instructors. I don't know why it took me this long to realize that wise professors should never be feared, but taken as a challenge to do better in exams, performing certain procedures, and most especially, considered as people who only wants what's best for us, the students.

My Medical/Surgical instructor was the one who interviewed me about a month ago. She was very intimidating. But the moment I got to talk to her, the intimidation turned into an interest of being her student. She's got the goods to back up her intimidating personality anyways, and that made me more enthusiastic.

My Neuro professor was my Orthopedics professor last semester, Sir Tempra who happens to be a close friend of my boyfriend. He certainly knows how to make the discussion interesting and alive by making it interactive and full of visual aids, something most instructors are not capable of doing.

My Fluids and electrolytes instructor is our school's top notcher in the board exams which I assume would make his discussions very juicy and deemed important.

Nothing could top my list of professors this semester which makes the learning process a bit more interesting.

I've changed my mind...

I may have changed my mind...

Remember the last time I was ranting on how I hate the thought of taking the board exams? Well, I think a little realization has made that decision of mine on the rocks.

Talking to my father days ago made me thought of how little they're asking from me by taking the board exams. After all they did to me, is it selfish of me not to give them what they want for a change? I mean, how hard could it be anyway. No matter what the outcome would be, I'm still gonna do what I want in the end. And it doesn't involve needles, gloves, or any hospital. After going through all the drama, I think I could say in the end that I did what they wanted me to do already with the best of my abilities and efforts. After that, it's my turn to grab a hold of my life.

Is it really that big a deal?... Good photography if you ask me

Is it really that big a deal?...

The Board!

The word is just torture to my ears!

My mom and i had been arguing about the board for a couple of days now and she pulled my last string this time around.

Okay, you might be asking yourselves WTF am I talking about?

It's the board exams. What every self-confessed nursing student must go through to be a certified and registered nurse. Apparently according to her, I must have it too.

Maybe it's better if I put it into scripts.

Mom: Let's talk shall we. What are your plans?

Me: I wanna cut hair.

Mom: You just want to stay this way forever?

Me: Stay as what?

Mom: Don't you want to earn 2.8 million a year?

Me: I don't care if I earn that much or nothing at all. I find it a waste

Mom: Why would it be a waste?

Me: Why should I go through all that when I won't even practice that profession?

Mom: It's not that I am against cutting hair, but I just want you to have options.

Me: Then what is your problem with me cutting hair?
Mom: I don't know who you are anymore. I don't know what you want to do with your life

---walkout from Mom---
What's up with that?!

She left with nothing resolved. How immature!

I did the walkout thing with my friends and/or classmates before but grew out of it somehow. I've learned that the best way to handle a situation is with open communication and and open mind. I can't believe that my mom would just walk out on me like that and leave me fucked up!

First of all, I'm okay with the thought of having options in life, but hello! I gave up my passion for singing just because she wasn't okay with it, saying that it's a temporary job with no shelf life. I won't do that again to my passion for cutting hair! Never!

The thing is, the last time we've talked regarding my future, and God give me another blood clot in the head if I'm lying, she told me to just give her a degree and I can do anything I want. And now what? A degree is followed by an exam that is way too expensive that we could hardly afford?

Secondly, she keeps on saying that they could make ways in giving us that money for the review. I'm no blind, but I am fully aware of what we can afford and I'm done with them borrowing money just so they could do these things. I appreciate the effort and all, but frankly, after all the review and exam I'd be doing? What is it all for? I have, over the years, learned the value of education, but is my choice saying it isn't? Why not just spend it on something that could help me in the future with the career of my choice, right?

Lastly, I believe I am old enough to make personal decisions such as this on my own. My boyfriend has always told me that you should always fight for your beliefs especially if it's what's right, and i know THIS is what's right.

Final decision: I'm not taking that board! A stylist could never use it for anything.

Good photography if you ask me...

Here's a couple of amateur photographs I took with my Sony Ericsson P990i. Great quality I believe!

Over and Out!

Reunited and it feels so good!

October 30, 2007

I can't even remember the last time I've been with my high school friends. All I can remember was a time of bonding spent in a coffee shop here in Dagupan till 11pm, and that was it. The rest was just forgotten by my teeny tiny brain haha.

So anyways, It's kinda fun having to go through all those makeovers don't you think? I could barely recognize my friends with all their new dos and styles. Ayessa is now wearing make-up, Mary has even ventured the world of eyeliners and short bobs, and Jezreel is looking more like a guidance councilor compared to the last time I saw her. As for John, well, same old same old (wink!)

So this is another pictureatti post since I hate putting captions and I've always been a firm believer that pictures should always speak for themselves.

Let's play a little guessing game. In the next picture, all three of us were wearing skinny jeans but can you guess which jeans am I?

And here's a little somethin somethin Ayessa and I did the day before we all met. The pictures were all made for a good laugh and I believe that's just what we got out of it. Some of the images were blurry but it's still worth a giggle.

Till we meet again my friends! It's good that we always know how to pick up where we last took off.

Scent, Oops! He did it again...

Scent...

While surfing youtube yesterday, I typed in Christina Aguilera just to see what's new with my all-time favorite performer. To my surprise, several videos of her new commercial showcasing her new fragrance! Take a look! Watch for the effect when she spritz herself, PERFECTION!

Lovely, isn't it?

Oops! He did it again...

I had been holding myself back from saying something about one of my classmates' rant about me and my blockmates but I think I've strained myself for too long and I just have to say it out loud.

Meet Mr. Interesting.

It's his second time around in the college life after graduating from an engineering course so safe to say, he's a lot older compared to the rest of the guys in our class.

After getting to know him a bit, he came "out" to me which really wasn't much of a surprise anymore after one of my blockmates told me prior to our conversation. Blah! Blah! Blah! Moving on...

One time I invited him to go out together with my boyfriend but said he couldn't make it so it was fine. It wasn't that big a deal since it's not like we're going to a huge party or anything so I just cancelled.

Then came his turn to invite us on a karaoke afternoon splurge and this time, I was the one not available to join due to personal reasons a.k.a. spending time with my boyfriend. Their plan pursued but without Irish and I so I thought it was fine with him. BTW, the invite was actually sent to most of our classmates.

Days after, I saw his shoutout box at Friendster ranting on how BORING our block is. So I thought to myself, how shallow of a reason for him to label us as boring individuals just by not being on his karaoke splurge?

STRIKE ONE!

A new shoutout months after a quiet classmate-to-classmate relationship except during times of paying him for the Autoloads, there was a new rant once again still referring to us as BORING! Oh and may I add, this time around, he stated how he wouldn't miss us.

STRIKE TWO!

Come to think of it, I really don't know why I keep on visiting his profile. I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm waiting for the next big scandal. Coz you know how fabulous it is to discover skeletons from people you least expect to have bull?

Well anyhoo, appaled, taken aback, and shocked with the new shoutout he posted, I still kept quiet. No one seems to be caring anyway since I don't hear from anyone in our class having an opinion about it, I felt it was the better choice.

When I checked in the next day, to my surprise, the latter part of the shoutout was changed and in it was an apology for posting the former.

SAY WHAT? Say no more...

To me, being liked by everyone is no everyday challenge. I don't spend time thinking what it is in me that people don't like. I quote Samantha from Sex and the City, "Honey, if I care about what everyone thinks of me, I'll never leave the house."

Don't get me wrong, I love Mr. Interesting. But sweety, if you're gonna call us boring coz that's how you find us, stand up for it. Live it! Don't let anyone mold who you are just because they reacted to your belief. Always remember that just because what you think isn't accepted by many, doesn't mean you have to go with what they believe is true.

Despite how we've been labeled already, I still wanna prove him wrong.

I know how interesting our block is! We have singers, dancers, photographers, artists, and a whole lot more to be proud of. Just open your heart a bit more. Spontaneity might be slapping you in the face and you don't even know it.

Select a song? Anyone?
